Consistent attendance is essential to your child’s progress in therapy. As a private, fee-for-service practice, Innovative Therapy Group relies on regularly scheduled appointments to provide effective, individualized, evidence-based care. Missed appointments limit your child’s progress and prevent other children on our waiting list from receiving services.
Please review the following attendance requirements carefully.
Appointment Reminders
As a courtesy, reminder texts may be sent prior to appointments. Failure to receive a reminder does not waive this policy.
Illness
Please cancel if your child has a fever or symptoms of illness. Children must be fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to therapy.
Cancellations
• Advance notice is required whenever possible.
• Cancellations made less than 2 hours prior to the appointment will be considered a No Show.
• Sessions should be rescheduled when possible.
• Two (2) cancellations within a two (2) month period may result in removal from the therapist’s regular schedule. At that time, the parent/guardian will be responsible for scheduling future appointments. Discharge from therapy may also occur. Circumstances may be reviewed at the therapist’s discretion.
No Shows
Two (2) no shows within one (1) month may result in removal from the therapist’s regular schedule. The parent/guardian will be responsible for scheduling future sessions. Discharge from therapy is also a possible outcome. Situations may be reviewed at the therapist’s discretion.
Holidays / School Breaks / Inclement Weather / Travel
Cancellations due to recognized holidays, school breaks, inclement weather, or planned travel (with advance notice) will not count toward cancellation totals.
Therapist Cancellations
If a therapist cancels, families are not required to make up the session. If requested, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule.
Tardiness
Children arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to cancel and reschedule. Sessions canceled due to tardiness will count as a cancellation.
